Promoting social responsibility as a corporate objective is the goal of the CSR Kompetenzzentrum in East-Westphalia-Lippe. With its work it primarily helps small and medium-sized enterprises develop an individual strategy, define responsible corporate goals, plan measures and communicate successes.
Corporate social responsibility is about entrepreneurial strategies for which benefits to the company and to society are not in opposition, but complement and facilitate each other. The basic principles of this concept have existed since antiquity, which are now summarised under the heading of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
In practice, CSR at companies might mean the formulation of a code of conduct, based on the company's values, which applies to all areas and to all employees. Additional topics are the integration of older and disabled persons at the company, making it easier for employees to return to the company after family leave, taking environmental protection measures and setting up day-care centres or implementing special measures for the security and health of all employees.
