ZiMT - Better Communication in Clinics

ZiMT - Better Communication in Clinics

If technical devices in hospitals and operating rooms communicate with uniform standards, information can be transported faster and easier—and new devices can be put on the market more easily. Projekt ZiMT strives to set these standards.

Project ZiMT aims to establish open communications standards. This will provide the basis for safe and dynamic networking of various components in operating rooms and clinics. Manufacturers will also benefit directly from these open standards, as they will reduce their dependence on current standards and allow them to develop and market their own protocols. This will make it easier – especially for small and medium-sized medical businesses, which constitute approx. 95% of the market – to develop solutions and innovations that can be implemented in networked operating rooms more quickly than before. The resulting increase in supply would also give clinic operators more freedom to select their preferred products.
