Zolitron - War on Batteries – Development and Production of Self-Charging Micro Energy Modules

Energy is everywhere: in motion, friction, heat. If it was possible to utilise this energy, regular batteries, especially those for small devices and sensors, would be unnecessary. The start-up Zolitron is working on this idea by combining existing energy converters and storage media.

Its founders, Hutchison and Zinn, met during an exchange at Harvard University and later had the idea to solve an important energy supply problem together. Since early December 2015, they have been working and researching at the Chair for Materials for Microtechnology of the Ruhr University Bochum and have already made great strides towards their goal of providing a reliable and autonomous energy supply for mobile terminals.
